Oblong Contemporary Art Gallery is an Italian art gallery engaged in the promotion of contemporary art through exhibitions and other events. The gallery, which includes headquarters in Dubai, Forte dei Marmi and soon Florence, operates both at the local level and on the international artistic platform.
Its mission and intent are to create a global arena for culture and the arts. Its headquarters qualify as places of intense cultural exchange and artistic and intellectual experiences: small living rooms of creativity. With solo and group exhibitions, Oblong showcases the works of highest quality by Italian and foreigner artists, and at the same time it offers workshops, educational activities as well as cultural and creative exchange initiatives between the United Arab Emirates and Italy.
While operating with a world-wide gaze and approach, Oblong Contemporary Art Gallery is deeply rooted in the Italian artistic and cultural context: his vision aims to “export” across the border the cultured and passionate love for sculpture and visual art, particularly in the United Arab Emirates, today the artistic centre of the Middle East. And this also by drawing on the genius loci of Pietrasanta, a medieval city called the Piccola Atente very close to the headquarters of Forte dei Marmi and the famous marble quarries of Carrara.
