From 1972 to 1991, Joan Gaspar was part of the management of Sala Gaspar, founded in 1909 and committed to the avant-garde artists of the time. Sala Gaspar introduced to Barcelona, artists such as Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, Marc Chagall, Josep de Togores, Antoni Clavé, George Braque, Alexander Calder among others.
Joan Gaspar continued his legacy of him and opened his own gallery in Barcelona on November 1992 and later in Madrid in 2003 (until 2015). Both galleries continued to promote modern art and also presented young artists who have established themselves over time, such as Igor Mitoraj, Etienne Krähenbühl, Jean-Baptiste Huynh and Concha Sampol.
The gallery collaborates with museums and cultural institutions in the organization of public and private exhibitions.
